Attraction of the Week – The Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum
Every week, we take closer look at one of the New York Pass attraction, big or small.
This week we bring you the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum. The museum’s home is the majestic USS Intrepid, a US Navy ship that served in World War II. and the Vietnam War.
The museum features thousands of artifacts from military and maritime history and showcases the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid, the submarine USS Growler, a Concorde SST, a Lockheed A-12 supersonic reconnaissance plane, and the Space Shuttle Enterprise (separate ticket required for entry to Space Shuttle).
Throughout the year, the Intrepid hosts a plethora of special exhibits. Currently, it is home to the Star Trek: The Starfleet Academy Experience (Through October 31st, 2016). The exhibit lets visitors experience the grueling training of the Star Fleet Academy in facilities equipped with impressive gadgets and technology and virtual reality.
