The New York Pass App Hit One Million Downloads
Recently, we celebrated an astonishing one million downloads of our iPhone app. When we add the 300,000 Android downloads, our app has been downloaded 1,300,000 times! Thank you everyone for supporting the New York Pass and exploring the Big Apple with us.
Rated on iTunes, the New York Pass App has helped many people plan their itineraries, get valuable New York City tourist information, and provided thousands with much needed directions in the occasionally confusing city grid.
The New York Pass app serves as the perfect accompaniment on your sightseeing trip. The interface is very easy to navigate and the app is available for iPhone, iPad, and Android phones in English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese and Spanish (the app will download in the language that corresponds to the language of your device). The app is entirely free, and serves as a guidebook and navigator, and also enables users to purchase their passes though it for the discounted online price.
Click through the top left menu icon to uncover the contents of the app, including list of attractions, sample itineraries, useful tourism info and latest attraction news on the bottom.
The list of attractions is segmented by type, for easier navigation. Each individual attraction contains images, a live Google Maps map with current location and information about opening hours, addresses etc.
The gate prices are included for reference. General admission entry to each attraction on the list is free of charge for New York Pass holders. Location and contact information are view able by selecting the icons in the top right corner. By selecting the heart icon, you can add the attraction to your favorites for easier access. To access the offline map of the area, swipe left on the header image.
The online map enables you to see attractions in your area and give you directions to them. The customized Google Maps map is a great tool for getting around town, without having to carry a huge fold-able map or having to ask strangers for directions. To view this map, you have to have an internet connection and your location services must be enabled.
The full version of the map, with all attractions segmented by type is available in the main menu. You can zoom in and out depending on the amount of detail you want to see. You can also view this map on our website.
Within the app, you can also make your own custom itinerary, or view pre-made itineraries for inspiration. You can access those any time when you’re on the go.
If you don’t have your New York Passes yet, you can purchase it right on the app and get the discounted online price. Beware that you cannot select shipping when purchasing through the app, so if you want your passes delivered, please buy them on our website.
