Each year, millions of visitors gather in Times Square in New York City to ring in the New Year with a spectacular show and unprecedented energy. People start gathering in Times Square early in the morning and withstand hours of waiting and frigid temperatures, only to witness the special moment in the most iconic place in the world.

If you do plan to see the ball drop this year in Times Square, make sure you arrive early to grab a good spot and read What To Expect on New Year’s to avoid any surprises. the crowds around Times Square, in the whole Midtown area are expected to be extreme, please keep that in mind when visiting attractions, taking tours, shopping or dining.
